All our courses are led by fully qualified BCU coaches, who are all volunteers.

Courses are available to members only, however, taster sessions can be arranged for groups. Contact Simon Terry for further details and bookings. Payment by cheque only please.

Kayak

Beginners - BCU 1 Star

4 weeks, £25

Course 1: Starts Wed 30th April, continues 7th, 14th and 21st May FULL

Course 2: Starts Thurs 1st May, continues 8th, 15th and 22nd May FULL

Intermediate

Or BCU 2 Star when combined with Intermediate Open Canoe (£10 discount)

5 weeks, £35

Course 1: Starts Wed 28th May, continues 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th June

Course 2: Starts Thurs 29th May, continues 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th June

Advanced

Or BCU 3 Star when combined with our available river trips.

6 weeks, £40

Course 1: Wed 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th July and 6th Aug

Course 2: Thurs 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st July and 7th Aug

BCU 3* sea kayak

1 evening, 2 weekends

Monday Sep 8- 6pm till 9.30pm - Sea Scouts - Theory

Weekend 13-14 Sep - Kimmeridge, Dorset - Training

Weekend 20-21 Sep - Lyme Regis - Training and Assessment TBC

Pool sessions

Learn to roll and improve strokes in a nice warm swimming pool.

Come to as many as you like but be sure to pay in advance.

£10 each session

Saturdays 12th, 19th, 26th Jan and 2nd Feb

3-4pm at Blackbird Leys pool

Introduction to Kayak Touring

Inland and Sea

First Course: 10th and 11th of May
Second Course: 28th and 29th of June
Starting at 9.30am, endind 4pm.
£40 per course.

Will be using sea kayaks and will be based on BCU 1-2* kayak syllabus with some add-on navigation And tripping skills. This is not a complete BCU course, you will need to do additional training in short kayaks and do some trips to be assesable.
