New Year's Paddle River Ock
Launch at Marcham Village. Go down scenic river, down several fun slide weirs, including
one through someone's garden! End at pub Nag's Head, by the river in Abingdon. Lunch at pub.

Instructor-led club trip. Journey time about 2 hours plus stop for lunch - sandwiches.

About 4 hours paddling. Some portages and small weirs. Bring lunch. Min 2*, 1*
can paddle tandem with instructor.

Open Canoe Association Annual Rally, Chasewater Park, Cannock, Staffs
Every year the OCA hold an annual rally over the May bank holiday weekend. This event is
always popular and gives most of us an opportunity to get together. Throughout the
weekend there are trips, workshops and opportunities for training. For more information

Go With The Flow Taster Day
Part of Oxford Inspires Festival for 2007. Will be boat trips in open
tandem boats or rafts round swimming pool island. Dawn will be giving out literature
about club on river bank at Sea Scouts.

Start at leamington Spa Finish Stratford. In aid of
Guide Dogs for Bind. 19 miles. Some shootable weirs. Some portages. 2* or 1* with

French Trip
River Lot, and if staying on to 22 July, River Loire. Base camping on
Lot, dam?fed grade 2 or option of grade 3. This will be an active week ? we want to work the river
and practise skills. River Loire will be canoe camping, flat water. Can camp on lots of
islands ? a laid-back finish to holiday! Dead cheap holiday especially if sharing
3 or 4 to a (big) car. Can get very cheap ferry, then just fuel, tolls, cheap camp
fees especially if you share a tent. Mostly group cooking ? salads, French bread,
cheese, BBQ. The odd meal out. Better value and less rush if you go for 2 weeks.
Instructor-led. Kayaks or canoes. Can hire club boats.

Day 1: Cricklade - Lechlade, camp at Trout. Day 2: Lechlade - Tadpole Bridge.
Suitable 2 star min. Opens or kayaks. About 10 miles a day. Contact Elwira.

Day trip to the Nene Whitewater Centre
This is a great opportunity for those with little or no white water experience to start
off on this man made course with instruction from the Isis coaches. You will learn how
to safely enter and exit the white water without capsizing, basic white water theory and
other useful moving water skills.
Use of the centre fee is £10 and then £5 course fee. Pre-requisites 3*, if you are 2*
please apply anyway subject to current skill level.

Fancy Dress Paddle
A chance to show off your seamstress skills.
We will be having a fancy dress paddle starting from the Scout Hut in open canoes or
kayaks and hitting the local taverns. There will be a prize for the best fancy dress,
if you have no fancy dress you are not welcome, grrrrr..... Cheap efforts will be
punishable by mass round buying and dunking.

Weekend trip to Holme Pierre Pont white water course, Nottingham
Weekend at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. Camping next to the course.
This will be a fantastic weekend for those that have just completed their 3* course,
and for those that want to try playboating/surfing. Pre requisites 3*, if you are 2*
please apply anyway subject to current skill level.
Meet at Sea Scouts Friday approx 6pm-8pm, although people can turn up on Saturday/Sunday
if they can't make Friday. Costs: £9 per day on the course and around £5 for camping
plus course fee of £10 (plus other costs e.g. Petrol, food etc).

Min 2*. Peer-led trips with safety built in round Poole Harbour and Studland Bay.
Cheap basic camping near Kimmeridge. Sea kayaks can be hired reasonable cost from Pangbourne.

Cwm Pennant Festival
This annual event is aimed at anyone interested in sea kayaking and for all levels of ability.
The event regularly attracts over 60 participants for a weekend of practical workshops,
come and try it sessions with sea kayaks provided by the country's leading sea kayaking
manufacturers, expedition lectures, and guided trips around the Lleyn peninsula.

Kayak training afternoon, River Nene White Water Centre
An exciting afternoon of white water kayak coaching at the River Nene centre,
near Northampton. The White Water Course has been hired for our exclusive use between
13:00 and 16:00. You need to be over 12 and hold at least BCU 1 star kayak. You don?t
need to be able to roll. All BCU Coaches will be welcome. It?s an ideal venue for
spectators. Student numbers will be restricted so book early to avoid disappointment.

Thames Trip, Cricklade - Lechlade - Tadpole Bridge
This is the rescheduled Thames trip (for the one which was cancelled in July during
the floods). The trip will be taking place weekend 22nd, 23rd of September. Cricklade
- Lechlade - Tadpole bridge. Camping in Lechlade at the Trout. Kayaks and Canoes 2* welcome.

Sea paddle, AS Watersports, Exeter
On Sat October 6th AS Watersports have end of season sale - sea kayaks included.
Dagger regularly sell off their demo boats cheap. Sun 7th October Exeter Canoe Club
have invited us to follow this visit with a sea paddle with them.
AS Watersports is situated very near Exeter Canoe Club, in the old harbour area - has been
done up - lots of shops. YUMMY ice cream- home made. Camping nearby.
